Observations about coastal rowing – Day 1.

Day 1 – Tuesday, October 4th, 2022.

I’ll be honest. Im not sure if this is day 1 or day 2, but I am calling it day 1.

Flight from Chicago to London, 4 hour drive in a van that was way too big for the roads in Wales and some rain. In the last 10 year, I have been to more regattas than I can even remember. This week, I make the trip to Saundersfoot Beach in Wales for the World Rowing Coastal Championship.  

The boats look basically the same, wider, bulkier to handle the surf.
The oars are the same.
But something is different about this…
